Today I am thrilled to welcome Klaire Van Elton to the Blog and share her 2014 Collection of stunning Bridal adornments.
I had a chat to Klaire to find out about her, and her new venture into beautiful Bridal adornments…
Who are you, and what do you do?
“I’m Klaire Elton and I’m the creator and designer of Klaire Van Elton Bridal Adornments.”
“I create Headpieces, Halo’s, Vines, Veils, Cuffs and Combs, perfect for brides who love all things vintage but with a contemporary whimsical twist.”
“I individually hand make every design in the collection with a commitment of time and incorporate beautiful laces, origami papers, crystals and beads to create adornments from brides seeking a break from the norm.”
When and why did you start your Company?
“For my own wedding back in 2011, like alot of bride’s nowadays, I was eager to put a personal stamp on our day so I DIY’ed what I could, most notably – our flowers which were all origami folded from old novels.”
“The reaction to the flowers, well was pretty amazing and once back from honeymoon, realising the extra time ‘that no longer having a wedding to plan’ offered me, I decided to launch my alternative floristry company Paper-me-Happy.”
“Soon after, our wedding was featured in a national wedding magazine and after that I never looked back.”
“Over time, more and more of my brides, were asking for hair flowers to co-ordinate with their bouquet’s and so the idea to expand into bridal adornments was ignited.”
“Prior to designing wedding flowers, I’d spent a decade working as a fashion designer for various high-street retailers and boutiques and so the idea to combine both my love of fashion with wedding’s – seemed too tempting to resist!”
“I now work full-time across both Klaire Van Elton Bridal Adornments and Paper-me-Happy.”
What inspires you?
“I’m a naturally eclectic person, hoarding things and collecting trinkets along the way.”
“I like things miss-matched, unexpected and with lot’s of character and try to convey this through my designs.”
“For my debut collection, I was fortunate enough to travel overseas for research, scouring far flung trim markets and decorative lace mills along the way looking for fresh ideas and new fabrics.”
“I am always fascinated by the ways in which different cultures adorn and embellish their wares and this is a constant inspiration in my work.”
How would you sum up the service you offer for weddings?
“I strive to create an easy and hassle-free way for brides to find that perfect accessory, that final special finishing touch that pulls everything together.”
“As well as choosing from our existing collections, brides can customise a totally bespoke piece, a true one-off for them alone and we have delighted many brides with this service.”
“We also offer a consultation service, where brides can book to come see us and discuss their requirements in private.”
What is your greatest achievement?
“My greatest achievement was being nominated as one of Best New Bridal Accessories Designers at this years bridal NEXT! awards, has been the highlight of the year so far.”
What do you see as the future of your Company?
“I want to continue to expand on our product ranges, growing to include sashes, shoe clips and earrings.”
“I’m currently working on a variety of bespoke requests and getting to grips designing the 2015 Klaire Van Elton Bridal Adornments Collection.”
“I’m also hoping to continue to grow our stockist network, so that all brides-to-be have a Klaire Van Elton stockist close by.”

Thank you so much to Klaire for sharing her exquisite creations. I love the intricacy of the adornments and in particular love the origami designs, so unusual and perfect for the alternative bride wanting something both very pretty and that makes a statement.
