Its paper pretty up on the Blog today and I am delighted to share the creativity of the lovely Amy Seager at Dotty Pink Designs.
She describes herself as a Graphic Designer, illustrator, blogger, girl of God, maker of things of pen, paper, love and dreams and that all sounds like a very interesting combination and a very lovely lady.
When Amy is not busy being creative, she loves playing the piano, eating raspberry jam with bits in, jumping in puddles, baking VERY badly, days out at the seaside with her hubby and racing her pet rabbit and tortoise.
I caught up with Amy to get the lowdown on her Business,
What is it you do, and what services do you offer ?
“I’m a graphic designer and stationer, so I work with lots of lovely people designing their logos, blog layouts and promotional literature or wedding and event stationery for exciting days and events!”
When, and why did you start your business ?
“I’ve been an official graphic designer for over 4 years after I graduated with a design degree at university where I met my husband too!”
“I’ve been working for myself for the last 2 years as I wanted to offer a fresh and affordable design service to small businesses, individuals and couples for various projects and events and weddings too!”
What inspires you ?
“Bright colours, fun days out, memories of my childhood, whimsical fabrics and packaging, romance, and every day life.”
What trends are you seeing just now ?
“Pastels are big at the moment for the summer weddings but for next year blue seems to be a favourite.”
“Tea parties and village fete themes with bunting are popular and bird themes are meant to be top of the list next year too. Colour palettes and typographic are always changing which is fun and exciting to see.”
Whats your greatest achievement ?
“When I was 19 I went to art college to complete an art foundation year. During the last term my mum was really ill and sadly passed away which was really hard to come to terms with, however I was so determined to finish the course so that I could go on to University that I went back to college just 2 weeks after she passed away.”
“My greatest achievement is gaining a distinction (the best mark awarded) and collecting my results wearing the scarf my mum and I had knitted together a few weeks earlier!
Whats the future for your Business ?
“I’ve spent quite a while figuring out what works and what doesn’t and I’m always learning new things. I hope the future for my business enables me to work with more brilliant people both industry experts and clients and customers as that is the best part of this job. I hope to be expanding and adding to my stationery collections too!”
Is there any special offers or promotions you want to tell Plans and Presents readers about?
“And I will be launching an exciting new range to my stationery collection this Autumn alongside which there will probably be a fabulous special offer, so don’t forget to pop over to my website to keep up to date with it all.”
