Lucy with Diamonds – Bespoke, Handmade Engagement, Wedding and Eternity rings

They say Diamonds are a Girls Best friend and that is something I would definetely agree with so we start today with a little sparkle.

I am thrilled to introduce Lucy with Diamonds who creates bespoke, handmade Engagement, Wedding and Eternity rings.

Lucy has been a jeweller since leaving school in 2002, learning from the shop floor up!

Starting with retail and design she worked for a fabulous workshop in West Sussex, going on to learn to repair, handmake and manufacture jewellery before starting Lucy with Diamonds.

I had a lovely wee chat to Lucy Rawcliffe all about her fabulous Business,

Who are you, and what do you do?

I’m Lucy and I’m a jeweller specialising in bespoke, handmade engagement, wedding and eternity rings.

When and why did you start your Company?

Lucy With Diamonds was born out of necessity really, I was seven months pregnant when my business partnership broke down.

I had to make a choice between finding employment or setting up again from scratch.

I chose to set up my company because I just couldn’t imagine doing anything else and the chance to do it completely my way was too tempting!

I built the website and organised everything by the time my baby was a month old!

What inspires you?

It’s a cliché to things like nature and travel but it’s true, I find inspiration in all sorts of things.

When it comes to wedding jewellery such as hair pieces, then wedding dresses are such an inspiration.

I absolutely love them which is probably why I love my job so much.

Do trends influence your Service?

To a point trends do influence my stock, you’d be a bit naive not to keep up to date with what brides are wanting currently.

However when it comes to wedding rings and engagement rings I try not to get too distracted by trends.

A wedding ring will hopefully be on your finger for the rest of your life and should reflect the wearer’s personal style and the style of their other jewellery.

I think I have my own unique style when it comes to my jewellery, I aim for timeless and classic designs.

What is your greatest achievement?

Setting up my company while going through a difficult pregnancy and making it past the year in profit felt like a huge achievement in itself.

I was also recently nominated by a customer for the a Wedding Industry Awards, to have a customer do that for me was a very proud moment.

What do you see as the future of your Company?

I’m taking on my first employee this month which is scary and exciting!

I just want to grow the company gradually, build a reputation for quality and excellent customer service.

There is a long-term plan for a studio that would be open to the public, but that’s a way off yet.

Thanks so much to Lucy for sharing her beautiful work.

It must be so fulfilling to create something so unique that will  be treasured by a person for a lifetime and the opportunity to design something so personal is amazing.
