Today I am thrilled to spotlight on One48 Paper, a blossoming talent creating Wedding Stationery for the relaxed free spirited Bride.
148 has been designer Amys lucky number since childhood. It holds such special meaning that it was only logical to use it when deciding on a Business name.
She designs Save the Dates, Invitations, Detail Cards , RSVPs, Table Plans, Number cards and Menus and is based in Warton, on the Fylde Coast of Lancashire.
I hand you over to Amy to tell you all about One48 Paper…
Who are you, and what do you do?
Hi I’m Amy Jones, the owner of One48 Paper,
I’m 27, living in Lancashire with my Fiancé and our 1-year old puppy Halle.
I design wedding stationery for the more relaxed, free spirited bride.
The wedding collections I create are based around my love of nature and my passion for creative freedom. So you’ll find a lot of soft colours and whimsical script fonts.
I can design wedding invitations suites, on the day stationery from table plans, places names and signs, to orders of services and favour tags,
I can also create personalised cards / gifts for your bridal party.
I am also launching a blog on 1st September called ‘The Anxious Bride’ it’s going to be a hub of information for brides who already deal with some kind of mental health problem.
The blog will feature real bride stories about their experiences, simplifying tips and anxiety reducing techniques, as well as businesses sharing various products or services they believe brides can benefit from.
When and why did you start your Company?
I started One48 Paper is June 2018, it came about through being in the process on planning my own wedding and designing my own wedding stationery.
I had a lot of people complimenting my work and I decided that it would be an exciting new venture to take on after working for the last 6 years as a graphic and web designer.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by nature, and a more simplistic way of life. I find I’m happiest either by the water or being creative in some way.
Do trends influence your work?
I guess they do in some respects but I like to stay true to my style and not venture too far from my brands aesthetic.
At the moment I’m learning modern calligraphy, brush lettering and watercolour painting, so that I can add a more personal touch to my designs.
Do you have a favourite wedding style?
I absolutely love the whole boho vibe, flowy fabrics and wildflower bouquets.
I just really appreciate the more laid back and natural style wedding, where things are a little less formal and you can really see the couples personality shining through.
What do you love most about your Job?
I love working for myself and the flexibility it allows me to have in my life. Sometimes you can’t always predict when your creativity will strike and I like being able to seize that moment when it sparks.
It’s also lovely to be surrounded by the wedding and creative community, as working on your own can sometimes feel a little lonely.
What do you do in your chill time/perfect day off?
On days off I like to relax with my Fiancé, and either have a chill day at home or take our puppy Halle out on walks in the woods.
What is your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement was taking a massive leap of faith and leaving my 9-5 agency job behind.
It’d made me a very anxious person and I knew I had to change something quite drastically if I was going to be able to put my health first.
It was scary to leave behind a regular income and go it alone. I still have a long way to go but I know without a doubt that it was the right decision.
What do you see as the future of your Company?
Over the next few years I’d like to be working regularly with couples on their stationery and of built a really strong brand and name for myself, especially locally.
I hope that my business can grow organically around my home and family life.
This September Amy is also starting a new blog called The Anxious Bride which has stemmed from her own experience in Wedding planning.
From finding it difficult to find helpful info info about planning a wedding when you were already suffering with anxiety or other areas of mental illness she decided to give back to those dealing with issues like herself by helping other brides to be who may be in a similar situation.
Look out for this wonderful resource coming soon…
