Today I am thrilled to spotlight on “Oriental Flower” , a gorgeous Vietnamese inspired bridal gown collection by Lorena Merino.
Images of this beautiful collection were captured by Alberto Llamazares.
After two years creating bespoke wedding dresses in her charming Madrid atelier, Lorena Merino has launched her first collection of wedding dresses.
A collection inspired by a small city in Vietnam, Hoi An – also known as the “city of tailors”, visited by the designer in the spring of 2016 which has marked a turning point in her life.
Of all the magical moments that she remembers of that trip, there is a very special one that will always accompany her: the image of Hoi An, on a full moon night, illuminated by hundreds of candles that ran along the river inside colored boxes; small lights that, from a distance, created a sea of beautiful flowers.
And that is the image she had in mind that gave its name to this new collection.
“Oriental Flower” is a collection of delicate, romantic and very fluid wedding dresses.
All of them made in crepe, muslin and spot lace. Plain designs embellished with ivory colour details, cotton embroidered silk bambulas and laces that give the collection a unique touch.
Dresses that stand out for their beauty and simplicity, such as Tuyet, a lingerie dress with dotted tulle overdress, or Loan, a chiffon dress with floral appliques on the shoulder and removable cape on the back; and, of course, Lien, with a combination of textures that makes it really special.
An eclectic and intimate collection created for real world brides, from the classic to the most daring ones: women with personality, independent and who do not want to give up romanticism. Brides that place great importance to details and who are dying to find a dress made with loving care.
With her new collection, Lorena Merino wants to reach those brides who do not want or do not dare to make a dress from scratch, or those who do not live in Madrid and can not travel for the tailor trials; brides who prefer to see and touch the dresses, try on several models and choose the one they identify with the most.
The collection will be available soon in some bridal boutiques out of Spain for those brides that are willing to discover Lorena Merino wonderful designs.
