I hand over to Helen Whitehead to tell you all about her Business…

Who are you, and what do you do?

“I’m Helen! I love to make personalised prints for the home that can be treasured for a lifetime.”

When and why did you start your Company?

“After the birth of my daughter in 2013, I began looking into ways that I could work from home.”

“I was certain that I could, and would, find a way to earn money whilst staying home with my girl.”

“It was Christmas time when a simple idea – using my child’s footprints to create Christmas cards for family members – evolved into a whole new business, designing and creating custom prints for families using the hand and footprints of their children.”

“With time, this progressed into nursery décor, home décor and eventually, gifts and décor for weddings.”

“And so, Perfect Little Prints was born!”

What inspires you?

“My family! I continuously find myself making little notes of sayings that we frequently say, and wondering how I can adapt them into a new print.”

“Sometimes, I can be having a conversation with my husband and he’ll say a really love little sentence and I’ll think, ‘I can use that for a new print!’

“When we’re out and about, I pay attention to what people are enjoying, what they’re wearing, who they’re with… I like to try and gain an understanding of people and what it is they love.”

“When you pay attention to your target audience, you learn what they love and how you can provide something unique, just for them.”

Do trends influence your work?

“Not always. I pay attention to them and if I have an idea that can be linked to a current trend, I’ll take it forward but mostly, I enjoy creating unique prints.”

“Something that is one of a kind and exclusive to my shop.”

What is your greatest achievement?

“By far, my family. When my husband and I got married, we knew we wanted children one day.”

“What we didn’t know was we’d end up having two children 18 months apart!”

“It’s been the most exhausting and yet most rewarding time of our lives, especially since launching Perfect Little Prints and seeing it grow from strength to strength because, when all is said and done, all that I do is for them and inspired by them.”

What do you see as the future of your Company?

“As well as continuing to expand on prints and home décor, in the next 18 months I have plans to expand Perfect Little Prints to include stationery too.”

“I constantly find myself considering new avenues though so who knows what the future could hold?.”

To close I love creating gifts that can be treasured for a lifetime and I think there’s something really special about receiving a gift that has been personalised; it means care and consideration has gone into purchasing that gift.”

“Bringing those two things together and creating a keepsake print that has a real personal touch is the real essence of Perfect Little Prints.”

Thank you so much to Helen for telling us all about her beautiful personalised prints.

They make the perfect thoughtful and ‘something a bit different’ gift for special occasions or just a lovely treat for yourself.
