Today I am thrilled to spotlight on the work of Rosie Willett Designs who create beautiful Bridal Headpieces, jewellery and accessories.
Rosie is an award winning tiara designer with a First Class Honours degree in Fashion Marketing.
Rosie is inspired by the arts, fashion and film as well as the shapes and structures in nature.
She has an experimental approach towards her work and constantly challenges herself to create new and interesting pieces.
The range from Rosie Willett Designs includes romantic flower tiaras, sparkling side tiaras and traditional tiaras.
Each piece is individually handmade and perfect for stylish Weddings or special occasions.
I spoke to Rosie to find out about the Brand…
Who are you, and what do you do?
I’m Rosie from Rosie Willett Designs.
I design and make headpieces, jewellery and accessories for stylish weddings and occasions.
Our pieces are stocked in bridal boutiques across the UK and we also sell online via our Website and Not on the High Street.
When and why did you start your Company?
Rosie Willett Designs was established in 2008.
At the time, many of the bridal headpieces on the market were mass produced and very traditional in style.
I felt that I could offer something that was more fashion focused, as well as being beautifully handmade.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by many things.
My work has quite an organic feel, so the shapes and structures in nature are a continual inspiration.
I also love film and costume, so the flurry of dark fairytale films, such as Snow White and The Huntsman, Maleficent and Alice in Wonderland inspired my Enchanted collection.
Do trends influence your work?
Trends in bridal wear don’t move as quickly as fashion trends, but I am influenced by both wedding dress designers and fashion designers.
In particular, the delicate bead work by Elie Saab and Valentino’s use of lace and embroidery has inspired me when designing my headpiece collections.
As well as following current trends, I also look to the past for inspiration as my pieces are mostly vintage inspired.
Period dramas, such as Downton Abbey and Mr Selfridge, are a great source of inspiration as there are so many beautiful hair accessories and jewellery to look at.
What is your greatest achievement?
I can’t really pick out one single thing as my greatest achievement, but I am very pleased with the continual press coverage that Rosie Willett Designs receives in bridal magazines, including two front covers with Brides magazine.
I have also created headpieces for Coronation Street weddings, which was fantastic as I’m such a huge fan of the show.
I also have my first celebrity wedding coming up in August, which will be covered by Hello! Magazine.
What do you see as the future of your Company?
I’m very happy with the progression of Rosie Willett Designs and hope to see a continuation of our success into the future.
I don’t have plans to expand too much, as I don’t want to be in the position where we would have to mass produce our designs.
The beauty of our bridal headpieces is that they are all exquisitely handmade and I believe this is at the root of our success.
Thank you so much to Rosie for sharing her elegant Bridal designs with us and introducing us to the Brand.
