Supplier Spotlight – Nicki MacFarlane – The John Lewis Collection – Flowergirl gowns.

Today I am delighted to welcome designer Nicki MacFarlane to the Blog.

Nicki Macfarlane has been a leading designer of exceptional dresses and outfits for bridesmaids, flower girls and pageboys for many years. Her award winning designs feature regularly in leading UK bridal publications, and her clients have included many celebrity and society brides.

I think most the country all let out an audible “aww” when Nicki’s beautiful gowns adorned the little Bridesmaids of Kate Middleton when she walked down the aisle at the end of last April.

Now following a hugely successful debut for John Lewis in 2011, Royal designer Nicki Macfarlane has created a new, exclusive collection for the retail favourites.

Featuring muted colours of shell pink and elegant ivory; full skirts with petticoat underlays and Nicki’s trademark sumptuous bows in royal gold, ivory silk and organza, the range of dresses epitomizes Nicki’s reputation for exemplary quality and style.

Lindsay Dickson, Girlswear Buyer for John Lewis says: “Following the success of last season’s collection, we are delighted to be welcoming the new range of Nicki Macfarlane bridesmaid dresses into John Lewis for spring. The dresses are made from beautiful silk and taffeta, and offer our customers a designer look at an affordable price.”

The ivory 1950s-inspired Hera (below left) has an on-trend belt with a bow at the front and is perfect for all ages of flower girl.  The dresses are available from aged 3 to ten.

Juno (below right) is a fairytale dress featuring organza overlaid on silk and delicate organza sleeves and a dupion silk sash.  This is the stuff of little girl’s dreams.

Elena (below) is a beautiful shell pink full-skirted dress with pretty slim, puffed sleeves.  The dramatic organza bow, tied at the back, creates a real statement.

Iris [below] is a sleeveless ivory silk dress, which features a stunning shell pink organza bow and a matching delicate ruffle around the neck.

The new collection will be in store and on-line at the end of January 2012.

Thank you so much to Nicki for sharing these adorable designs. I think it really makes a Wedding when children are involved, their little character quirks , their innocent smiles and their sense of unabounding fun.

Any little girl will transform into a little princess in one of these beautiful creations.
