Today I am thrilled to spotlight on The Hen Planner, a resource to help you plan the perfect hen party creating something extra special with stylish flare.
The Hen Planner dream began in London, but is now based in Dublin, Ireland.
I had a wee chat with owner Claire to find out all about her amazing Business…
Who are you, and what do you do?
“Hello, I’m Claire, founder of The Hen Planner.”
“The Hen Planner is your essential guide to stylish, sophisticated hen parties where you can browse our directory for ideas across the UK & Ireland.”
“You can also buy non traditional hen party accessories, and decorations for the Bride who wants a more sophisticated do.”
When and why did you start your Company?
“I started up in 2012. I was doing endless Google searches to find some classy and fun hen party ideas for a friend who was very into fashion and style.”
“I couldn’t find anything suitable. I had also been to one two many cowboy hat, flashing sashes and phallic infused hen parties which are just so not me.”
“I like fun but I despise tack. I am all for hen parties but with a classy and alternative twist.”
“I love making them different and special – just without the tacky image that has become the norm.”
“I started thehenplanner.com as if I was looking for something different, I knew there would be others like me. The Hen Planner was initially a blog and has grown to where it is now.”
What inspires you?
“I am inspired by Women in business and particularly female entrepreneurs.”
“From my grandmother to Tamara Mellon, female entrepreneurs have always intrigued and inspired me.”
Do trends influence your work?
“They definitely do as trends will always sway the market and a business needs to be able to change and evolve accordingly. However that said, only trends that feel right influence work.”
“I am visual person and very influenced by style and fashion. I think that’s evident in the look and feel of the blog and the products and activities we sell.”
“I also like different and love it when I come across something unique and exciting.”
What is your greatest achievement?
“This is a tough one! I have lots of achievements in my life that I am proud of and it’s hard to nail down one.”
“I am a qualified accountant which was a hard slog as I went back to it when I was in my mid 20s had to fit study in somehow around working and playing to get the horrid exams out of the way.”
“I set up The Hen Planner whilst travelling around Central America solo for a few months (much to the fear of my man and parents!) which I am also proud of.”
What do you see as the future of your Company?
“To continue to inspire the ladies who like us, want something different for their hen party and are not afraid to break away from the traditional mould.”
I was really impressed by the extensive directory of carefully selected hen party businesses.
Claire also has a blog with DIY tips, planning advice and real hen parties to inspire your own amazing events.
The boutique also has a very eclectic and bespoke range of hen party accessories and decorations, including an exclusive range of badges, bunting and more so there is such a rich and varied choice for the Bride to be or hen party planner.
I received some very beautiful products to review which bucked the regular Hen Party trend, pretty and not at all tacky and becoming of a lady.
I also adore these hen party kits, all the things you need in one stylish bundle.
So why not trade the shot glass for champagne, the phallic straws for some shiny stripy straws, and pick a vintage or retro theme which is altogether more timeless.
