Today I am thrilled to share the ‘The Vegan Dream’ , a sustainable bridal gown collection inspired by Narnia’s whimsical world depicting the deep connection and harmony between humans, nature, and animals.
On the 10th anniversary of the Sanyukta Shrestha brand’s sustainable journey, the designer saw fit to reflect her longstanding beliefs in a modern luxury bridal wear that not only fights against animal cruelty, but also looks stylish and affordable.
Images were captured by Kev Elkins Photography with the collaboration of a fabulous creative team.
Sanyukta Shrestha is a luxury bridal designer brand with a conscience, with the epitome of Sanyukta Shrestha’s collections being luxurious organic fair-trade fabrics that conserve a century old traditional Nepalese craft fused with flattering shapes, elegance & individuality.
Recognised by the industry and media as “the dawn of the sustainable movement” and “the Greta of the Wedding World”, the Nepalese born designer Sanyukta Shrestha has redefined the bridal market with her innovative creation and was among the first to introduce sustainability to the bridal industry with the launch of her sustainable bridal collection in 2011.
In 2021 the Vegan Dream’ sustainable bridal gown collection campaign ensures to highlight not just the importance of going back to nature but nurturing it too.
Even every little detail on the photoshoot set was created by embracing whimsical atmosphere of Narnia’s story, reviving Nature with touch of love, empathy and craftmanship.
The set was created in Designer’s own private woodland where peace and serenity that surrounds her own home spurs the creativity and inspiration.
The woodland is home for many unique birds living in harmony with seasonal wildlife visitors like Muntjac Deer, Wild Rabbits, Pheasants, Owls, Badgers, Bats, Dragonfly, and other beautiful fauna.
In keeping its natural beauty intact, the Sanyukta Shrestha team handcrafted many features like Tree Chandelier from naturally fallen branches, Narnia door by upcycling 200 years old door, chairs from broken/fallen woods and resurrected abandoned lamppost to make the area even more enchanting and magical. In the backdrop, eco-friendly luxury tent ‘Lotus Belle’ was adorned with antique/vintage furniture presented in rustic old-world décor with finishing touches like 100 years old antique brass metalware tossed with naturally dried flowers and fallen leaves.
The whole collection is created without any animal products and features 22 unique Ethical wedding dresses that are handmade in Nepal using skin nourishing hand-spun and hand-loomed 100% bamboo, 100% organic cotton, luxe silky and floaty vegan eco- fibre that are made from the cellulose of wood pulp (100% biodegradable and compostable) to Newlife recycled fibres.
The gowns are a celebration of love, and a wedding look that more effortlessly fits into any woman’s sustainable wardrobe and provides her with options to reuse after the wedding.
