Choosing a Social Enterprise venue for your Wedding or Event – S.E Venues

Today I am thrilled to spotlight on choosing a Social Enterprise venue for your Wedding or Event.

Choosing a Social Enterprise venue to accommodate your event fundamentally means investing your money into social change: as these organisations channel all profits towards improving their communities.

It is the best way to make an ethical purchase, and SE -Venues would love to share what they do and some stunning Venues they have for Weddings.

Social enterprises need to generate revenue for sustainability but they also have equally important social and/or environmental aims.

The requirement to manage this ‘multiple bottom line’ – financial, social and environmental – can result in unique challenges but huge benefits.

The ability to bring about positive change to people and communities can be satisfying and provide a means of keeping a front line service to disadvantaged people alive.

The government defines social enterprises as ‘businesses with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or in the community, rather than being driven by the need to maximise profit for shareholders and owners.

All social enterprises have a social and/or environmental mission, which is absolutely central to what they do – it’s why they exist.

That may be reducing carbon emissions or landfill, supporting people with disabilities into paid work, or providing training to the young or disadvantaged. Put simply, when social enterprises profit, society profits.

With this in mind , SE Venues provides an easy to use online search facility for people who are interested in hiring an ethical venue for their event or business meeting.

All profit from these events is re-invested in social change and regeneration.

The website came into existence through the work of Community Enterprise, the parent social enterprise of SE -Venues.

Over many years Community Enterprise has supported asset transfers and the development of community owned buildings all across Scotland.

They became aware that there was a common need to market and promote space to the general public, local people, private and public sector.

They felt that creating a national on-line platform would help customers find venues and boost the sector nationally.

This platform was established as a support to the sector to showcase the wide ranging and high quality facilities that are on offer, to raise profile and maximise sales and sustainability.

It is the only website dedicated to Social Enterprise Venues in the UK and provides a fantastic and much needed platform to promote the space they have.

By having all of Scotland’s best Social Enterprise Venues listed in one place for the first time; it provides a simple and straightforward way for companies and individuals interested in hiring ethical venues to search for and find something that meets their needs, where they need it.

By providing such an easy to use online search facility for users it is the aim of the site to bring about more bookings with Social Enterprise Venues, and also provide clients with the information that there are different options for Events.

The Website breaks down  Venue search into the type of Event you wish to cater for and this includes Conference Venues, Music and Arts Venues, Party venues, Christmas Party Venues, Corporate Away Day venues, Sports and Leisure Venues, Offices, Catering ,  and meeting rooms.

To break this down further SE  – Venues have 8 beautiful and versatile venues that can accommodate Weddings:-

The mahogany-panelled Court Room is an elegant area suitable for small events, with portraits by Raeburn and Ramsay adorning the rich crimson walls.

Catering is offered via a group of preferred catering professionals, who can create menus and packages for all tastes and budgets.

Having exclusive use means both the venue and catering staff concentrate their full attention on the guests to ensure the smooth running of all events.

The Merchants’ Hall is the head-quarters of one of Edinburgh’s oldest and most prestigious business organisations – The Company of Merchants of the City of Edinburgh, thus ensuring the building is well maintained and is in secure hands.

The Company believes in enhancing the venue’s facilities when possible – e.g.: recently re-decorating The Hall, adding  The Master’s Suite (an en-suite changing room) and designing a stunning new bar (which is movable).
