Today I am thrilled to spotlight on the beautiful Murrayshall Country House Hotel & Golf Club, a stunning vacation resort, wedding venue and estate in the heart of Perthshire.
I recently visited with my family, and like me from the moment you drive along their magnificent tree-lined avenue, you will be entranced.
Silhouetted against 365 acres in the evergreen heart of the Perthshire countryside, you’ll find the hotel, a luxury four-star country house and estate nestled amongst towering trees.
It dates back over 400 years, being lovingly restored over the years, and its just 3 miles from the cultural city of Perth, and an amazing base for exploring the surrounding area.
With 40 sophisticated rooms and suites, you’ll find a hideaway where you can truly relax.
The accommodations are full of bright, light personal touches, to make you feel right at home.
Each room has been carefully crafted to reflect the beautiful landscape of Perthshire.
There is a choice of classic, superior, and deluxe rooms and speciality and family suites.
We stayed here in a family suite which was incredibly spacious (HUGE) and perfect for a family.
The bed in the main bedroom was extremely comfy, you just sink in ( must be the memory foam mattress), and I slept like a log.
There was also a double and a single sofa bed in the lovely lounge which is perfect if you have growing teenagers like myself.
There was a fantastic large bathroom with a great shower, and a bath should you wish to soak, and there was a separate second toilet.
The bathroom came stocked with lovely toiletries by Ishga, and large fluffy towels.
It even has a small kitchenette area with a microwave, cupboard space, kettle and sink which is handy if you wish to eat in at the dining table furnished with 4 chairs.
Dining too was marvellous.
With Perthshire on their doorstep, they make the most of everything the land has to offer from fresh vegetables to locally sourced meat, each ingredient has been carefully chosen to enhance your dining and tasting experience.
If your palette craves a combination of traditional and modern dishes, their award-winning chef is ready to serve you cuisine filled with delicious tastes and flavours with a touch of added class in the Lynedoch Brasserie.
If you are looking for cosy, and cheerful consider Stutts Clubhouse Bar & Grill where you can enjoy tasty classic gastro food.
And if you are lucky enough to be blessed with good weather take your dining experience outside to the Courtyard to fully immerse yourself in the tremendous views.
The restaurants views over the surrounding countryside are pretty spectacular.
We ate as a family at the hotel with breakfast being an eclectic buffet of cereals, hearty porridge, pastries, fruits, yoghurts, balanced with a hearty cooked Scottish breakfast selection. The omelette was scrumptious.
Dinner was again amazing with large portions beautifully presented and served with a smile.
Customer service even in these difficult times was impeccable from reception to domestic and hospitality staff and that is so important in your hotel experience.
We particularly enjoyed the fish and chips as we are a fan of hearty comfort food.
They also do a lovely Afternoon Tea which we ourselves did not experience but it looked top notch.
The other main spaces in the hotel were equally a draw with the Library being a favourite with its intimate feel and roaring fire.
There was also the bar with its lovely sofas, grand piano and lots of snug seating areas.
It does have that home from home feel but with added luxury.
If you are sporty then Murrayshall is a golfing paradise.
Lined with trees and luscious greens, you’ll be spoilt for choice with two courses and 27-holes of spectacular parkland golf.
Additionally they have a fully stocked Pro Shop, an expansive driving range and expert PGA tuition.
For something a little less strenuous, but to breathe in the fresh country air its also fabulous for a more sedate country walk.
With spectacular views, Murrayshall provides an idyllic location for a Big Day.
Timeless photographs can be set against the backdrop of this traditional country house, their exquisite grand staircase, or the many other quirky corners of this pretty building, as well as the gardens and extensive grounds.
There are some beautiful inside spaces to have your ceremony whether thats a private gathering of 10 to numbers as high as 130, or a stunning enclosed rose garden for an outdoor taking of vows, as well as a vast function suite to dance the night away in.
Take a look behind the scenes at a gorgeous Murrayshall Wedding Day…
All in all I would heartily recommend the hotels whether you are in Perthshire for a lovely break, have come for the Golf or touring the Scottish Highlands, its an amazing place to stay with incredible hospitality, and a lovely rural escape.
Consider it also as a Venue for your Big Day, from the traditional Scottish Wedding to a romantic elopement just for two.
Why not indulge yourself , savour all the nearby sights, breathe in the hotels heart warming personality and just enjoy a really wonderful place that will stay in your memory.
