Today I am thrilled to spotlight on a beautiful country mansion – The Manor, that is nestled in the heart of the Somerset

Built in 1235, this Grade II* listed property is set within 12 acres of exceptional British countryside and is well positioned for access from the M5 and Taunton railway station just 6.5 miles away (ideal for guests travelling from London in under 2 hours!).

Your Wedding

For weddings, the Manor can be your secluded country residence, set within a private location that would be yours alone for the duration.

The only residential guests are your family and friends – you take over the entire house and grounds.

Relaxed whilst being opulent, the comfortable surroundings there will create the backdrop to a truly memorable experience.

Whether you decide to celebrate your wedding there for a day or for a full weekend, they will give you the flexibility to create a unique party that celebrates your style and personality.

The Manor is licensed to hold a civil ceremony in either the cosy 13th Century Drawing Room (with the capacity of up to 40) or, you may prefer, to say your vows in the atmospheric Banqueting Hall which has space for 80 guests attending the ceremony (60 seated).

Also, for those wishing to say ‘I do’ in a classically English, country garden setting, they have a beautiful pergola that is licensed for such occasions!

Alternatively, you may decide to enquire with one of the charming local churches.

Their reputation is one that has been built on our ability to provide exclusivity, ultimate privacy and attention to detail.

Their menus are bespoke to them and their cuisine can be served as informally or, as formally, as you wish.

Essentially – you have many options with which to choose from and ultimately, they want your day to be as bespoke and as memorable as it should be.

Accommodation & Facilities

Accommodation is available within The Manor, for up to 24 people, across 11 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms – your family & friends will quickly feel at home here!

For you and your guests there is also complimentary WiFi, a fabulous heated outdoor swimming pool (typically open May until October), a full size tennis court, a sauna, games room and comfortable TV room.

If additional accommodation is required there are also two separate properties within the estate, The Lake House and The Great Long Barn, that are each individually styled and can (by prior arrangement) be wholly yours to accommodate another 20 guests.

The Lake House

The Lake House is a unique 13th Century Thatched Barn, appealing to all ages and tastes.

Simply charming in every aspect, and a place where you will relax complete with LCD TV, a Sky TV package, Bose Wave music system and complimentary Wi-Fi …for those still wishing to keep in touch with the outside world.

Sumptuous teak & leather dominate this airy and cool venue that sleeps up to 12 people and is available as additional or entirely separate accommodation (perfect for a hen or stag do!).

The Great Long Barn

The Great Long Barn is dates back to the 13th Century and has been sympathetically renovated to create an amazing internal space which features high vaulted ceilings and accommodation for up to 8 people.

The property boasts over 3 acres of formal and informal gardens so you could actually host your wedding reception here after marrying at The Manor!

Within the property there is complimentary Wi-Fi, LCD TV in the lounge area with Sky TV, a Bose Wave music sysytem and a fully equipped kitchen for self-catered stays.

There is also exclusive use of a fabulous hot tub which comes complete with Bluetooth speakers.
