Today I am delighted to share this lovely Dinosaur Themed DIY Wedding with a Maggie Sottero Dress.
The couple celebrated their prehistoric reception at the George & Dragon.
Set in the peaceful village of Chacombe, the George and Dragon is a traditional country pub.
It dates back to the 17th century and still has original beams and fire places. During an extension many years ago a hidden well was discovered, which has long become a big attraction of the pub, along with the unique brass bar.
Images of the day were capture by Adam Watts Photography.
Adam Watts is a Photographer based in Northamptonshire where he lives with his wife, his children (and their gerbils.)
He bought his first camera in 2005 (a 4 megapixel Vivatar camera) and could not put it down, it went everywhere with him.
Now, he is a full time Senior Visual Marketing Photographer for a leading school photography company and has ventured into the world of photographing weddings and portraits.
Adam says of the couples day…
“This was a completely different experience for me.”
“It wasn’t like any other wedding I have photographed before as I was Usher and Photographer! At least there weren’t many photos of me!”
“Eoin and Hayley are great friends, which is why I was honoured when Eoin asked me to be his Usher.”
“I was also lucky enough to be able to give them a gift which would last forever. Their wedding photography!
“This was a beautiful, warm, intimate wedding with wonderful people who truly love and care for Eoin and Hayley.”
“The dinosaur theme really captured the personalities of the couple whilst adding fun and quirkiness to what was a wonderful, love-filled day.”
I now hand over to the couple…
How did you meet?
“We met when we were 13 years old when we went to school together.”
“We went our separate ways to college and university, but met up again when Hayley wished me a happy 22nd birthday.”
“Since then we have been inseperable.”
Tell us about the Engagement…
“We got engaged on August 1st 2012.”
“I took Hayley for a walk to one of our favourite places, over looking the sea in Durdle Door.”
“I asked if I could use her shoulder to lean on and take a photo, and as I did this, I dropped my lens case, got down on one knee, pulled the ring out of it and asked!”
“She said Yes!”
Tell us about your wedding planning experience…
“It was pretty stressful, and very testing at times but completely worth it.”
What was the best bit of the day?
Eoin: “Seeing Hayley look up at me as she walked down the aisle.”
Hayley: “Getting to the church to see Eoin.”
Top tip for other brides and grooms
“Plan group photos and the time they take VERY carefully and do not stress about who you do and don’t invite.”
“If you have time do as much as you can yourself.”
“Most of all don’t let anyone else’s opinions get to you.”
Thank so much to Adam for sharing this amazing DIY wedding.
So many colourful, personal and fun touches and what a priviledge for Adam to be able to share this dual role.
