Today I am thrilled to share a magical autumn wedding with woodland inspiration, a flame haired Bride, an Alfred Angelo gown and a hint of pink.
Images were captured beautifully by Lucy Lou Photography.
Lucy is a Wedding Photographer currently based in Fareham, Hampshire, however she travels throughout the UK and is available for destination weddings.
She says of her work…
“I am so lucky to be able to say that photography is not only my passion but it’s my job and I love it!”
“A wedding is such a special day. So much thought and planning has gone into each and every detail so naturally you will want every aspect captured for you to be able to look back on those memories for years to come…”
“That’s where I come in! Every wedding is unique and I simply love to tell each story through my camera.”
“I document a wedding day with a creative eye and strive to capture moments as they unfold without intrusion.”
“My style is natural, with a hint of photojournalism. My images are warm and romantic and I like to think that they are heartfelt.”
I hand over to gorgeous Bride Steff…
How did you meet?
“We met on a night out in Wolverhampton in February 2012.”
“I was living in Tewkesbury at the time and was invited back by one of my friends houses who knew I was having a tough time down there.”
“I started chatting to Dave on Facebook the next day and we didn’t stop talking after that!”
When did you get engaged?
“Dave proposed to me a year and a half later, quite randomly while I was cooking dinner.”
“After a bit of grilling he admitted he’d wanted to propose the night before (we were at a gig seeing our favourite band) but he knows I’d have freaked out at all the attention!”
“Which thinking about it, was quite thoughtful actually.”
Tell us about your wedding planning journey
“Our journey was a whirlwind.”
“We decided we wanted it the following year because we’re both impatient and don’t like to wait for anything.”
“Within a couple of weeks we’d booked our venue at the Donington Park Farmhouse Hotel.”
“It was love at first sight. We both couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else than this big, beautiful, old, rustic barn in the middle of the countryside.”
“From then on it was all stations go.”
“I made thousands of lists, opened hundreds of tabs on my computer, and we scrutinised every little detail from the music playlist for the whole day down to what colours and types of flowers to put in the button holes. And we thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.”
“What started as the idea of a beach theme wedding turned into a romantic autumn setting, with wooden mushrooms on the stage, fairy lights, tea light candles in every nook and cranny and leaves everywhere.”
“We wanted to make it as personal to us as possible, so everybody who came would remember it.”
“We made a lot of things ourselves, like the order of the day, and our families put in so much effort to help us where they could.”
“My mom made metres upon metres of cotton bunting from scratch, my dad made the gorgeous log cake stand (with the help of his mate), my brother came out picking bags of leaves with us the day before the wedding and Dave’s parents baked everything for our cookie table.”
“But even with all the hours we put into it, we couldn’t have imagined how amazing it turned out in the end. It was perfect.”
When did you get married?
“We were married on the 2nd November 2014.”
What was the best bit of your Big Day?
“There were so many incredible bits to our day because it was so relaxed and fun.”
“But my favourite part was listening to Dave say his vows (he’s never mushy) and the registrar turning around at the end saying she’d never seen a groom who grinned so much, the whole way through the ceremony.
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
“Don’t get wrapped up in what others think and say, don’t go for the ‘norm’ just because it’s how you think it should be like.”
“Do it the way you want it and remember it’s a celebration of how much you love each other.”
“Everything won’t go the way you first picture it in your head but don’t stress yourselves out worrying, adapt. It’ll be your dream day in the end, you just don’t know it yet!”
Thank you so much to Lucy for sharing this stunning autumn wedding.
Its so lovely that family has been so involved in bringing together such a beautiful day, giving them such special memories as well as Steff and Dave.
Absolutely adore all the gorgeous leaf adornment from the ceremony setting to the cake to the cookie treat table.
Also love the vibrant bridal bouquet with stunning fiery colour bringing together a stylish and warm look to the whole day.
Amazing images of a wonderful celebration.
