A vibrant and colourful Festival themed wedding shoot at Higher Holcombe

Today I am thrilled to share this vibrant and colourful Festival themed wedding shoot at Higher Holcombe with a dash of bohemian flair.

Images were captured by Life’s Little Adventures Photography with an incredible collaborative team,.

Lynda of Life’s Little Adventures Photography says of this pretty Festival themed wedding shoot…

As a photographer I love seeing new venues and it was a stroke of luck that led me to find the wonderful new wedding venue Higher Holcombe near Ottery St Mary in Devon.

When I visited, I knew it would be perfect for a festival themed wedding shoot.

The aim of the shoot was to use really bright colours and create a bright and funky and fun festival themed wedding vibe but I wanted to let the suppliers be creative so made the bright colours the main brief and everything else just fell in to place.

The day of the shoot felt like one of the hottest days of summer and the sunshine was very bright but in the woods with the light streaming through the leaves, it really became quite magical, as you can see in the images.

Danni from The Wedding Hub offered to come on board as the stylist and we decided to do the shoot as a mash up between boho bride in the day and festival vibe in the evening.

She did an amazing job putting everything together on the day and styling it with funky extra touches like the home made hula hoop dream catchers to make it all look absolutely amazing.

She also provided the lovely wedding dresses and outfit for the groom and created the colourful stationery.

We had Ellie the Updo girl creating some beautiful hair styles using the lovely pretty pins bridal hairpieces. Becky Flynn worked her make up magic with a boho look and then creating a stronger look with extra sparkle for the funky festival look later.

The ‘ceremony’ was set in the Silver Birch Church, one of Higher Holcombe’s outdoor ceremony locations.

It is a really beautiful wooded area with silver birch trees lining the aisle, it is such an amazing setting for an outdoor ceremony. The colourful ribbon bunting and pom pom back drop from the Prop Factory gave it a real boho festival feel.

The rings provided by the Molten Ring Company fitted the theme perfectly.

The beautiful flowers from Emma Hewlett were bright and bold, they complimented the whole look and smelt gorgeous.

A pair of gorgeous delicate beaded sandals from The Lucky Sixpence completed Lia’s boho bridal look.

I really love nature and wanted to use the trees and leaves as a backdrop for the bright colours we brought in and I think this worked really well.

The cake from Dainty Bakes took centre stage with some bright flowers used to decorate along with some exquisite little biscuits from the Exeter Biscuit Company which were very intricately iced and tasted amazing too.

The wonderful bright jewel coloured table ware was all provided from Keeping It Vintage.

There was an army of amazing suppliers supporting this shoot and we were all treated to some rather tasty pizza by Flour and Flame for lunch.

Later on in the day we got our sparkly (biodegradable) glitter on, we had the funky VW Camper glitter booth from Vintage Camper Booths on site.

There were also a lot of cool photo props in the van that we had a lot of fun with.

The stunning sequin cape looked incredible with the the headdress that was made especially for the shoot, both made by Hoodlum, perfected Lia’s sparkly and bright festival vibe look.

I hope we have inspired some of you to go and get married in the woods or have some fun creating your own festival theme wedding vibe!
